Naomi Young

 

Naomi is the creator and presenter of Hey Hey, Let’s Play! and in-development TV show Tinkertime. Naomi has been working in Children’s Television and Theatre for 15 years. She graduated with a BA Media & Cultural Studies and Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary English & Drama) both from Macquarie University.

 

Naomi is mum to Gideon (6) and Tallow (4) and loves seeing the world anew through their eyes. She is passionate about creating content that empowers kids, especially for young girls who she feels need more exposure to strong female characters in music and television.

 

Naomi is a presenter at ABC Kids, and was Hootabelle on Giggle and Hoot from 2011-2016. She previously worked on Nickelodeon (Host of Nick Takes Over Your School, Sarvo’), The Wiggles (assistant choreographer, dancer), Playhouse Disney, Home and Away, All Saints and much more.

 

While in education, Naomi was Runner Up Most Outstanding New Teacher awarded by the NSW Teachers Guild. On top of her teaching load she founded The Project - Schools Industry Arts, an initiative that collaborated with schools and arts industry professionals to push the boundaries of arts education programs in schools. She delivered NSW Institute of Teachers accredited professional development to hundreds of teachers.

 

Naomi looks forward to furthering her career in Children’s Television both as a presenter and a producer on Tinkertime. She loves working on Australian Children's' content and believes that there is room for more programs with a strong female, Australian voice in the global market.
